Another gold for NLC reporting
Former policy officer Belinda Cormack, Council Liason Officer Sheree Ah Sam and Media & Marketing Officer Roanna Edwards collect the ARA Gold Award
Northern Land Council (NLC) Chief Executive Mr Kim Hill has congratulated his staff and Full Council for being awarded a third consecutive Gold Award at the Australasian Reporting Awards (ARA) in Sydney last week.
The NLC’s 2010-11 Annual Report achieved the gong in the Legal, Regulatory and Administrative category of the prestigious awards announced at a gala dinner at Sydney’s Town Hall.
According to the ARA, in order to receive gold status a report must:
• achieve overall excellence in annual reporting
• provide high-quality coverage of most aspects of the ARA criteria
• provide full disclosure of key aspects of its core business
• address current legislative and regulatory requirements
• be a model for other peer reports
Mr Hill said it was nice to again receive the recognition from ARA as a lot of work went into the annual report each year from his staff – particularly the branch managers and policy officers.
“The award is not only a reflection of the effort that goes into creating this important document, it’s a reflection of the good work NLC staff, under the direction of our Full Council, are carrying out across the Top End of the Northern Territory,” Mr Hill said.
“You need only flick through the glossy 240-page book and read the information or look at the stunning photographs and you can see for yourself what I’m talking about.”
Mr Hill also acknowledged Sauce Design and Paragon Printers Australasia for their contribution to the publication.
