Timber Creek Ranger Coordinator (N25) - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (subject to extension once funding is confirmed)
This position is responsible for coordinating the Timber Creek Ranger Group and assisting and working with Aboriginal land and sea owners and managers to maximise their participation in Caring for Country activities. You will also be responsible for seeking and coordinating fee-for-service opportunities for the Timber Creek Ranger Group.
Applicants should possess a sound knowledge of the Aboriginal Caring for Country management opportunities and constraints, with demonstrated ability to effectively manage and support work teams in remote locations. You will have experience working with Aboriginal communities in coordinating resource management projects, from planning through to implementation and reporting.
Good communication, negotiation and community consultation skills, with tertiary qualifications in natural resource management or related discipline, and/or relevant experience are essential. You will have demonstrated ability to collect, collate and analyse information, prepare reports and other strategic documents and monitor budgets.
A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and issues, with the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal people is required, as is possession of a ‘C’ class driver’s licence with the ability to safely drive 4WD vehicles.
