Salary: ASO4 or AS05 $60,887- $72,011 pa (depending on qualifications and experience)

The NLC is an independent statutory authority of the Commonwealth responsible for assisting Aboriginal peoples in the Top End of the Northern Territory to acquire and manage their traditional lands and seas.

The Minerals & Energy Branch is a dynamic work team with a focus on providing a high-level of service to the NLC and its constituents. The Minerals & Energy Branch is responsible for a substantial portfolio of projects, including management of the NLC’s functions and duties in relation to the minerals and energy sectors.

The Administration Officer is responsible for providing a high level of administrative support to effectively service the requirements of the Minerals & Energy Branch. This position will assist the Branch to fulfil its statutory and contractual obligations and achieve its strategic and corporate goals, in accordance with relevant legislation, and NLC policies & procedures.

Demonstrated experience working in an inter-cultural organisation and demonstrated knowledge and respect of Aboriginal culture and society, and the issues affecting Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory and the ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal people is essential. As is a qualification relevant to the position, such as Business Administration or related discipline or relevant experience.

Travel to remote areas using 4WD vehicles is involved so possession of a driver’s licence and the ability to safely drive 4WD drive vehicles is essential.
