Senior Administration Officer (N68) - Continuous Contract
The NLC is an independent statutory authority of the Commonwealth responsible for assisting Aboriginal peoples in the Top End of the Northern Territory to acquire and manage their traditional lands and seas.
The Minerals & Energy Branch is a dynamic work team with a focus on providing a high-level of service to the NLC and its constituents. The Minerals & Energy Branch is responsible for a substantial portfolio of projects, including management of the NLC’s functions and duties in relation to the minerals and energy sectors.
The Senior Administration Officer is responsible for providing high-level administration support to the Manager, Minerals & Energy and for the supervision of administration staff based in the Minerals & Energy Branch. The Senior Administration Officer will assist to ensure that the Branch fulfils its statutory, contractual and corporate functions and duties, in accordance with relevant legislation, and NLC policies & procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge and respect of Aboriginal culture and society, and the issues affecting Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory and ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal people is essential. As is a Certificate IV or higher in administration or related discipline.
Travel to remote areas using 4WD vehicles is involved so possession of a driver’s licence and the ability to safely drive 4WD drive vehicles is essential.
